Hi Hungry Girl,

A few of my friends lost a lot of weight following the same diet plan, but it's not working for me. I know there are tons of other diets out there, but I'm overwhelmed. How do I pick one that's actually going to work?

Diet Dilemma

Hi Diet Dilemma,

It's all about choosing a diet plan that's right for YOU, which can be completely different from what's right for your friends. You want to set yourself up for success, and that means picking something that's realistic for your lifestyle. Here are some ideas to help you find a diet that works...

If you're always out 'n about and on your smartphone, definitely check out all the weight-loss apps out there. Calorie Counter (by FatSecret) and Lose It! are both SUPER POPULAR. Websites like Calorie Count and CalorieKing are great on-the-go resources. Weight Watchers Mobile and Weight Watchers Online are also fantastic options.

Need human interaction and the support of others to keep you accountable? A plan with weekly meetings and weigh-ins, like Weight Watchers, might be perfect for you.

Like lots of specific info to keep you on track? Strap on a monitoring device, like BodyBugg or Fitbit, to see how many calories you're actually burning. Then find a plan that encourages precise tracking of what you eat and your calorie intake.

Don't neglect specific health needs. If you know you need to watch your sodium intake, an "all-pickles, all-the-time" diet is likely a bad idea! (Okay, a pickles-only diet is probably a bad idea no matter what, but you get the picture!) Speaking of health needs, it's a good idea to check in with a doctor before starting any weight-loss plan.

Some general diet advice? Avoid your trigger foods (the ones you CAN'T stop eating once you start -- click here for a little video I made about 'em!), or look for portion-controlled options so you can't get into too much trouble with them. Set attainable goals, not extreme and unrealistic ones. And don't be too hard on yourself if you slip up on your plan... We all make mistakes. Just jump right back on the wagon.

Hi HG,

The weather's getting colder, which means it's time for soup! Got any hearty store-bought favorites? How about recipes I can whip up at home?

Soup Seeker

Hi Soup Seeker,

I LOVE soup, and I eat it often. Broth-based soups are always great (especially when you're dining out), but it sounds like you're looking for something a little more decadent and substantial. Here are some of my top picks...

When it comes to store-bought finds, I really like the latest additions to the Progresso Light line -- Chicken Pot Pie Style and Creamy Potato with Bacon & Cheese, each with just 100 calories and 3g fat per cup (PointsPlus® value 2.) Tabatchnick's Soup Singles are also amazing (they come frozen in their own bowls!) -- the stats range from 90 - 330 calories and 0.5 - 7g fat (PointsPlus® value 2 - 8*). And while you're in the freezer aisle, check out Cedarlane's new CedarLean soup 'n wrap combos. They're all-natural mini meals with really unique and satisfying options, like the Butternut Squash Soup and Quinoa Wrap and Lentil Vegetable Soup and Samosa Wrap -- just 220 - 230 calories and 6 - 8g fat per meal (PointsPlus® value 6*). And you can't go wrong with one of my favorite canned soups of all time -- Amy's Organic Chunky Tomato Bisque!

As for recipes, this Root-for-Chunky-Veggies Soup is loaded with seasonal produce and amazing flavor. Our BLT-inspired soup is VERY decadent, and here's a crazy-filling chicken chowder. If you feel like whipping up something really special, check out this Best Lobster Bisque. And this Creamy Carrot Soup is perfect for fall. Click here for EIGHT additional hearty soup recipes!

There you have it -- tons of guilt-free, filling soup options to get you through the colder months. I'm feeling all comfy and cozy just writing about 'em...
