Your stuffed burger recipes look SO incredible! I've tried stuffing burger patties before, but the cheesy filling often oozes out. Do you have any tips or tricks for these?

Hungry Girl's Stuffed Burgers

I really love HG stuffed-burger recipes. It all started when I had the idea to cram a Laughing Cow Light cheese wedge into the center of a burger patty... SO GOOD! Over the years, we've come up with more variations and mastered the art of stuffing burgers...

Here's our latest foolproof method!

1. Once the ground meat has been seasoned, separate the mixture into two halves. Flatten each half into a thin round patty.

2. Place the filling mixture on the center of one of the patties. (If there's a lot, spread it out a little, but avoid the edges of the patty.) Lay the other patty on top, and seal the edges of the patties together, enclosing the cheese.

That's it! You can use this process with any HG stuffed-patty recipe, even the older ones that use the "form a ball" method. Oh, and don't be fooled by the As Seen on TV Stufz stuffed burger maker... We tested it out, and it's kind of a flop.

Here's the need-to-know info...

Meat: Start with extra-lean ground beef (4% fat or less). You want to use about 4 ounces of raw meat per patty. Season it with spices like garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Salt-free seasoning blends like the kinds by Mrs. Dash are also great.

Cheese Stuffing: The Laughing Cow Light Cheese wedges are my top pick for burger stuffing, hands down. There are lots of fun flavors, but you can't go wrong with the classic Light Creamy Swiss! Blue cheese and reduced-fat feta crumbles are also great inside a burger. If you're working with sliced cheese, chop or tear it up into small pieces. And for a flavorful spin, add a little hot sauce or BBQ sauce to your filling!

Grillin' Time: Bring a grill pan (or skillet) sprayed with nonstick spray to medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4 - 8 minutes per side, until cooked to your preference.
