Ocean Spray Craisins Juice Infused Dried Cranberries - Cranberries are good. Dried cranberries are REALLY good. As for dried cranberries that kind of taste like... other fruit?! Madness! Uh-Oh, Galeos! Salad Dressing Draws Lawsuit
Remember the dressing we mentioned a few weeks ago, the one that lab results found to have nearly TEN times as many calories as listed on the bottles? The company, Galeos, has since been slapped with a class-action lawsuit alleging it committed fraud and lied to consumers. OUCH! (Click here to check out all the legalese.) What have we learned from this, people? Number one: HELLO, lying is bad! And two: You can't always trust the labels on packaged foods -- if something seems too good to be true (like this stuff), it probably is too good to be true. And to answer all of you out there who have emailed us asking if we've seen test results from a reputable lab confirming the inaccuracy... The answer, sadly, is yes.

The Buzz...

Live sponsored HG video event alert! TODAY (Monday, 12/13) at 7pm ET/4pm PT we'll be chewing and chatting about guilt-free snacks, featuring some favorites from The Laughing Cow! CLICK HERE to watch. Pssst... There'll be a very special guest! ***"Spotted Off Shelves" news: Two of our favorite varieties of Wish-Bone Salad Spritzers, Asian Silk and Honey Mustard, have been discontinued. WAAH! If you see 'em, stock up. And click here to BEG the Wish-Bone people to bring back these flavors. ***The beginning of the year is a pretty popular time to jump-start a healthier lifestyle, and apparently, Ronald McDonald has already announced his big New Year's resolution. On January 3rd, Mickey D's will have its nationwide launch of the Fruit & Maple Oatmeal, which has been in test-market phase for most of 2010. FINALLY! The b-fast item without brown sugar added has 260 calories, and the with-sugar version has 290. Happy (early) New Year! ***A recent study found that although nearly half of consumer respondents said they want healthier menu items at restaurants, less than 25 percent of those polled said they actually think about nutrition when dining out. PEOPLE! You know what you should be ordering! You asked for it; so eat it! ***Yes, peanut butter sticks to the roof of your mouth, but did you know that eating it could be good for your gums? New research from Harvard suggests that including peanut butter, salmon, and other foods with polyunsaturated fatty acids in your diet could reduce the risk of gum disease. We recommend consuming PB in moderation, though... That's all we've got. HG out!
