YoGreek Yogurt + Crunch! - Yogurt cups with sidecars of delicious add-ins make us smile. So when we first found out about this product, there was a LOT of smiling! In Blueberry, Strawberry, Vanilla, and Honey, this flavored Greek yogurt includes just the right amount of crunchy granola. Each container has 140 calories, 0.5g fat, 60mg sodium, 22 - 24g carbs, 1g fiber, 10 - 13g sugars, and 11g protein (PointsPlus® value 3 - 4*). Click here to see if it's sold near you!

Nature's Own Thin Sliced Bagels - Never one to fall behind on the trends, Nature's Own has launched its very own slim 'n holey bread items! Reduced Sodium Vlasic Kosher Dill Stackers and Spears - Pickles are GREAT. They're crunchy, delicious, and so low in calories. The only downside is that they typically contain a sizable amount of salt. Luckily, the peeps at Vlasic now have options with less sodium... around 25 percent less than their original pickles! Each 1-oz. serving (about 1 slice or 2/3rds of a spear) has 0 calories, 0g fat, 150mg sodium, <1g carbs, and nothing else (PointsPlus® value 0*). So chomp away! Look for 'em with the non-refrigerated pickled products.

Better-for-Your-Kids Foods

Lower-calorie food items are sweeping the nation like a 1960s dance craze. (WHY aren't there dance crazes anymore?) Check out these new products made especially with kids in mind. Kraft is getting sneaky with the U.S. launch of blue-box mac 'n cheese made with... CAULIFLOWER! (Why didn't we think of that?) Freeze-dried florets are reduced to powder and used to replace some of the flour in the pasta. Look for Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Dinner Veggie Pasta at Walmart and Target locations. Next, Lance 100 Calorie Pouches pack a portion-controlled amount of tiny crackers stuck together with cheese or peanut butter -- plus, no preservatives or high-fructose corn syrup. These sound good for kiddies and adults alike! And check out the makeover Little Hug Fruit Barrels got -- the handheld fruit drinks now have just 10 calories and 2 grams of sugar each, plus they're fortified with B and E vitamins. That's worth a BIG hug in our opinion. Lastly, Olive Garden has reportedly done away with the French fries and milkshakes that used to lurk on the kids' menu, replacing them with grapes and smoothies. It's a big step in the right direction. Hooray!

The Buzz...

Fro-yo news flash: Cold Stone Creamery is reportedly taking its elusive low-fat frozen yogurt nationwide! Previously found only at select locations, including the seven Cold Stone Creamery Yogurt Bar shops, the freezy goodness is available in fun flavors like Cake Batter, Cotton Candy, and Pink Lemonade! Cool... ***Get this: According to a 30-year evaluation of the daily eating habits of Americans, people in the U.S. are eating much more than they did in decades past. From 1977 to 2006, the average number of calories consumed per day rose by 570. One of the reasons suspected? Americans take in about 220 more calories each day from sugary soft drinks than before. Yeesh! ***If you're a fan of the Internet and Taco Bell, good news! Taco Bell is rolling out free Wi-Fi -- by 2015, all of its U.S. locations will offer freebie connections to the interweb. Before you grab your laptop and make a taco date with a pal, click here for tips on eating at The Bell! ***Uh oh... A potential culprit in weight gain could be lurking in your house RIGHT NOW. (Aaack! Hide in a closet! Run downstairs, not upstairs!) In a new study, a group of women were exposed to one of three types of lotion: chocolate-scented lotion with a label identifying the scent, chocolate-scented lotion without a label, and unscented lotion. When the subjects were offered chocolate chip cookies afterward, the women with the label-identified chocolate-scented lotion consumed the most cookies. Shocking? Um, not really. That's all we've got. HG out!
