Oscar Mayer Turkey Pepperoni
Our Pepperoni Has a First
Name, It's T-u-r-k-e-y!
Spotted on Shelves...

Oscar Mayer Turkey Pepperoni - There's plenty of turkey pepperoni on shelves, but this find is extra special: The slices are ginormous (not to mention, delicious)! A 4-slice serving has 80 calories, 5g fat, 660mg sodium, <1g carbs, 0g fiber, 0g sugars, and 8g protein (PointsPlus® value 2*). We can't wait to slap a slice on an English-muffin pizza... It's the perfect size!

Rice Krispies Treats Crackle Snaps - Oooh... These bite-sized rice snacks are drizzled with sweet caramel or fudge flavor, and they come in single-serving pouches! We're grateful for that portion control, cuz we'd probably tear through a multi-serving bag in no time. Each pouch has 60 calories, 2g fat, 70mg sodium, 9g carbs, 0g fiber, 4g sugars, and 0 - <1g protein (PointsPlus® value 1 - 2*). Eat 'em plain, or crush them up for a yogurt topping... Yum!

Sweet Earth Natural Foods Burritos - We just discovered Sweet Earth's natural vegetarian food, and we're mildly obsessed with these frozen burritos. They feature unique and tasty blends of plant-based protein (like tofu, beans, and seitan), veggies, grains, and more. Each burrito has 280 - 370 calories, 2.5 - 13g fat, 410 - 570mg sodium, 39 - 49g carbs, 2 - 7g fiber, 2 - 5g sugars, and 12 - 22g protein (PointsPlus® value 7 - 9*). Our faves are The Big Sur Breakfast and The Peruvian -- so delicious! Find the whole line on the West Coast at select natural-foods stores, Safeway stores, and Target locations. A nationwide Target rollout is happening this month!

Nestlé Pure Life Exotics Sparkling Water - If you haven't picked up this flavored sparkling water yet, get on it. In rockin' flavors -- Mango Peach Pineapple, Strawberry Dragonfruit, Tangerine, and new Key Lime -- it's free of calories, sweeteners, sodium... everything but refreshment!

Veggie-Go's - These nutritionally boosted fruit-leather-style snacks are fantastic. A blend of veggies and fruit, they're really smart on-the-go options for when you need just a little something -- they take up almost no space, and have only 15 - 20 calories each (PointsPlus® value 0*)! Get them from select supermarkets and natural-foods stores, or order on Amazon.

Quest Protein Chips - On a lifelong mission to get more protein? These tasty crisps should help you complete your... quest. (Tee-hee!) They don't taste quite like conventional chips -- that's because they're anything but conventional. In Sea Salt, BBQ, and Cheddar & Sour Cream, each single-serving bagful has 120 calories and 1.5 - 2g fat, with a whopping 21g protein (PointsPlus® value 3*). Online only, so order up!

The Buzz…

Uh oh… Whole Foods is being sued over its 365 Everyday Value plain Greek yogurt, which reportedly contains over five times as much sugar as stated on the label. The packaging shows 2 grams of sugar per serving; Consumer Reports tests found it to have 11.4 grams of sugar. Most similar yogurt has 5 - 10g sugars, and the lawsuit claims that no yogurt can claim to have a mere 2 grams per serving because of the natural sugar lactose found in all yogurt. Eeeks... Click for more info. ***Here's something we can definitely get behind... The Rudd Center for Food Policy and Obesity, a nonprofit organization out of Yale University, is reportedly urging the FDA to revise label standards to address unrealistic serving sizes. On its list: canned soup, powdered creamers, aerosol cooking sprays, and cereal. We couldn't agree more! ***And from our pals and partners at Health, here's a great piece on ways to reduce stress for all those college kids headed back to school. Eating well is on the list -- better check out Hungry Girl U on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram! And that's all we've got. HG out!
