New Varieties! Yasso Frozen Greek Yogurt Bars
Say YES to Yasso
Spotted on Shelves...

New Varieties! Yasso Frozen Greek Yogurt Bars - We recognize that most of the eastern US is still seriously chilly, but we have to let you know about these brand-new frozen treats from Yasso. In the on-a-stick department, welcome Coffee Chocolate Chip (YUM) and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. Really delicious, with 100 calories, 2 - 2.5g fat, 40 - 50mg sodium, 16 - 17g carbs, 1g fiber, 12 - 13g sugars, and 5g protein each (PointsPlus® value 3*). Find 'em at Stop & Shop, Kroger, Safeway, Walmart, and Super Target. There are also candy-bar-style treats(!) in Toffee Crunch and Sea Salt Caramel, each with 150 calories, 8g fat, 40 - 45mg sodium, 16g carbs, 1g fiber, 12g sugars, and 4g protein (PointsPlus® value 4*). For now, the candy-style bars are available only on the East Coast... So request 'em!

Kale Sprouts - This new veggie hybrid -- a.k.a. Lollipops, Kalettes, and BrusselKale -- is the glorious love child of kale and Brussels sprouts, and we're nuts about it. The leafy sprouts cook quicker than regular Brussels, and you don't have to break 'em down like kale leaves... Nice! A cup has about 50 calories, 1g fat, 50mg sodium, 7g carbs, 5g fiber, 1g sugars, and 4g protein (PointsPlus® value 0*). We found 'em at Trader Joe's, but they're popping up everywhere.

Perky Jerky Hot & Bothered Ultra Premium Turkey Jerky - The geniuses at PJ have added some extra zip to their chewy turkey snack, and it's the perfect mix of heat and sweet. A 1-oz. serving has 70 calories, 0g fat, 330mg sodium, 6g carbs, 0g fiber, 5g sugars, and 11g protein (PointsPlus® value 2*). No preservatives, and really tender and delicious. Plus, it may give you an energy boost, thanks to guarana: a plant-based caffeine source. Click to locate, or order online... Love this stuff.

Tomorrow Is National Pancake (a.k.a. Free Pancake) Day at IHOP! Here's How to Celebrate HG-Style...

The fine folks at IHOP have declared March 3rd National Pancake Day, which means free pancakes! We're all for a good excuse to eat pancakes, and this is a great one: IHOP has raised nearly $16 million for charity by holding National Pancake Day for the last nine years. In exchange for a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes, the chain just suggests a charitable donation. Here's the need-to-know info...

At 470 calories (PointsPlus® value 12*), the free short stack is actually one of the lowest-calorie items on the menu. Just don't let your p-cakes bring along their closest friends, butter and syrup (and all those CALORIES). Instead, request some jam or sugar-free syrup on the side. Another idea: Share your short stack, and order up an egg-white omelette.

Don't wanna indulge at IHOP, but can't bear being left out of National Pancake Day? DIY! Our Perfect Pancake Duo rocks: only 180 calories (PointsPlus® value 4*), crammed with fiber and protein, and completely delicious. Craving something a little more decadent? Whip up these blueberry cannoli flapjacks or this PB chocolate stack. If you feel the urge to check out your competition, strap on your pedometer, walk to your nearest IHOP, and make a donation to a charity in honor of National Pancake Day!

The End of Mindless Eating?
The Buzz…

Does your appetite keep asking for more even after your stomach's had enough? You might wanna reach for MealEnders. Dubbed "The Antidote to Overeating," these 15-calorie treats have two layers: a dessert-y one to satisfy your sweet tooth, followed by a tingly core to distract your brain from wanting seconds. Verrry interesting. In flavors like Cinnamon and Chocolate Mint, they're actually really tasty... ***Traditional slow cookers are getting one-upped, bigtime: Check out the new KitchenAid Multi-Cooker. Not only can it slow-cook your food, it can also stir, sear, and sauté it. Pricey, but cool! Now if only it could clean itself after... ***Oooh, another food giant has committed to cleaning up its ingredient lists. Nestlé has vowed to remove artificial flavors and colors from more than 250 products by the end of this year, including its Skinny Cow lineup. WOW. ***We're all about protein, but we're not sure about this one... Turns out bugs may be the protein of the future. Reportedly, more than 25 percent of the world's population eats insects, and those bugs can provide nutrition similar to most meats. If you're ready to hop on the bug bandwagon right now, you can order high-protein cricket flour and even cricket snack bars from Amazon. Anyone interested? Hello? All we hear are crickets... And that's all we've got... HG out!
