It's time to celebrate one of our very favorite items of all time. Without it, our coffee would be less delicious, our cereal bowls would contain more calories, and our lives would generally be less awesome. Today we salute... Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze! YAAAY!!!

Yeah, the name is kinda long. (We call it "UVAB" around the HQ.) And sure, it sounds kinda weird. (Vanilla flavored... but not sweetened?!) Trust us: Try it once, and you'll be hooked. The natural sweetness is enough, and the subtle vanilla taste keeps things flavorful. YUMMY!

Why Do We Love It?

The Flavor - Sure, other things factor in... but at the end of the day, if it doesn't taste good, we're not gonna bother. This tastes GREAT. It's rich, creamy, and WAY yummier than skim milk. Speaking of that stuff...

The Calorie Count - This nutty milk has less than half as many cals as skim milk, which is just one more reason to choose it. Need another? Keep reading.

All Natural - If you try to stay away from the artificial, this stuff is safe to sip...

Shelf Stable - This may seem like a silly thing to appreciate, but when you use as much Almond Breeze as we do, it's nice to be able to stash 10 cartons in the pantry -- there's always another nearby. (Oh, who are we kidding? We have a CLOSET devoted to our nonperishables.) UVAB also comes in refrigerated cartons, but those are harder to locate than the shelf-stable boxes.

This nondairy beverage is a pretty popular partner -- there aren't many foods it doesn't get along with. Here are a few extra-fun pairings... and one not-so-nice one!

Super Friend! Old-Fashioned Oats - Our lives changed forever the day we made our first Growing Oatmeal Bowl, which is a serving of oats (1/2 cup) prepared with twice the recommended amount of liquid (1 cup water and 1 cup UVAB) and cooked on the stove for at least twice the suggested time (10 minutes or more). A packet or two of no-calorie sweetener, a dash of salt, and a drop of vanilla extract join this duo on a pretty regular basis! 

Tasty Trio! Fiber One Caramel Delight Cereal + Gerber Apple Mini Fruits - Of course our beloved milk swap goes well with cereal, but adding freeze-dried fruit is a great way to zazzle it up a bit. This sweet, cinnamon-y, apple-icious breakfast combo is a great way to start the day!

Super Friend! Hershey's Sugar Free Chocolate Syrup - To make an AMAZING (and large!) low-cal glass of chocolate "milk," just stir 2 tablespoons of the syrup into a cup of the Breeze. (Add a Splenda packet and serve over lots of crushed ice, if you like!) Mmmmmm! And only 55 calories and 3.5g fat (PointsPlus® value 2*).
