Dear Hungry Girl,

What, in your opinion is the best way to exercise-- i despise it!

--Sweating Sucks

Dear Sweating Sucks ,

I feel your pain. I, too, HATE to exercise. But while I hate to exercise, I force myself to do it. A lot. Because it's the key to losing body fat or maintaining weight loss when you want to splurge and eat the foods you love. To get myself through tedious workouts, I try to make myself forget what I'm doing. Music is a great way to get your mind off of the monotony of the eliptical machine or treadmill. Some great songs to sweat too are "Hey Ya!" by Outkast, "Get this Party Started by the Black Eyed Peas" and "Good Vibrations" by Marky Mark & The Funky Bunch. The super fast-paced music will get you moving faster (and burning more calories) without noticing it! My absolute favorite way to occupy my mind while I put my body to work, though, is to play with my hand-held poker machine. It's so fun and addictive, sometimes I actually forget I'm working out! Well...not really, but it is distracting. Hungry Girl Tip: Mix it up! Keep things from getting boring by varying which game you play. You can get electronic versions of tons of games; from slots to blackjack to Yahtzee and Connect Four. Yippee!

Dear Hungry Girl,

I read in a magazine that drinking Peppermint tea after eating meals helps you lose stomach fat. Any truth to that?

--Pondering Peppermint

Dear Pondering Peppermint,

Sadly, I couldn't find any strong evidence to support that rumor. Still, if you like the taste of Peppermint tea, don't stop sipping. It's great for soothing an upset stomach and for relaxing you. And it certainly won't make you gain weight (unless you fill your cup with lots of sugar, of course). Some people also say that drinking peppermint tea, green tea or any tea for that matter can help speed up metabolism. But experts pretty much say that the same can be said for any beverage with caffeine. If you're counting on getting your tummy trim, though, you should think about doing lots of cardio. And crunches will help tighten your stomach muscles.

Today, December 8th is National Brownie Day. Whoop it up with a Lean Brownie ( or a No Pudge Brownie! ( Yum!
