Green Giant Broccoli, Cauliflower, Carrots and Cheese |
JOLLY LEAN GIANT |
We usually eat our veggies steamed (with a spritz of no-calorie butter spray if we're feelin' sassy). But March is National Sauce Month, so we wanted to get into the spirit. As you well know, sauced-up vegetables can be calorie-packed nightmares. Green Giant's Broccoli, Cauliflower, Carrots and Cheese are an exception. This delicious side dish is easy to make, and features a light cheese sauce. And, while these sauced-up veggies have a few more calories than plain ones, they're still pretty low at just 60 per 2/3 cup serving. So, what are you waiting for? Eat your veggies! |

C&W Creamed Broccoli |
SHOCK-OLI! |
Broccoli is a fantastic food. It's packed with vitamins A & C, and loaded with antioxidants. So why did the silly folks at C&W have to go and ruin everything by smothering these poor, defenseless stalks of goodness in creamy goo? A measly 1/2 cup serving of this gloppy, high-cal mess has 120 calories and 8 grams of fat. Veggies with 5 grams of saturated fat?! We expect numbers like that from our frozen friend ICE CREAM, not frozen vegetables. What a shame. The only thing we can do is alert the masses. Consider yourself warned. |
