Calorie-ridden drinks can wreck your diet in just a few gulps. Here are some beverage blunders you'll want to watch out for...
Drink one cup of Glen Oaks Drinkable Low-Fat Raspberry Yogurt and you'll be consuming a whopping 240 calories, 45 carbs and 40 grams of sugar. We prefer eating our yogurt with a spoon, but if you like drinking yours, grab a 70-calorie Dannon Light 'n Fit Smoothie instead. Hungry Girl Warning: Drinkable yogurts are often insanely high in fat and sugar.
DON'T TANGO WITH THIS MANGO
Naked Juice's Mango Acai is scary-high in calories. One bottle contains an insane 380, plus 6 grams of fat, 76 Carbs and 58 grams of sugar. This juice does have lots of antioxidants and vitamins, but there are definitely better ways to get those, than drinking this thick, caloric, juice drink. Hungry Girl Warning: Don't be fooled by this gloppy goo!
Easy on the Pom...
Don't get us wrong; we're not denying that pomegranate juice is good for you. In fact, it's chock-full of vitamins and antioxidants. But it's also pretty high in calories. A typical 1 cup serving of the stuff contains around 145 of them (a bit more than most other juices). We recommend that you occasionally forego drinking a whole cup of juice, and instead add a few ounces of it to some Diet 7-Up. Not only will you get the benefits of pomegranate juice without all the calories, but you'll also end up with a delicious, fizzy and refreshing beverage! Hungry Girl Warning: Watch out! Pomegranate juice calories rack up quickly.
A BAD DREAM!
Jamba Juice's Orange Dream Machine Smoothie proves that Smoothies can be a big time dieting no-no. Each Power sized Smoothie packs in a whopping 780 calories, 3.5g fat and an INSANE 155 grams of sugar. That's the same amount of sugar you'd get if you devoured about 5 1/2 cups of Breyers' Chocolate Ice Cream. Yikes! Seems this Orange "Dream" is actually one big beverage nightmare. Orange you glad we warned you? Our Advice: Try one of Jamba's new Enlightened Smoothies instead. A 16-oz. Blueberry Balance has 150 calories. Not bad!
Nightmare on Smoothie Street
Shakes for Dummies
Sure, you wouldn't think that Hershey's Milkshake in Vanilla Cream was calorie free, but would you think that one little bottle of the stuff could contain 640 calories, 14 grams of fat (9 of them saturated), 110 carbs and 88 grams of sugar? It's sad, but true. Hungry Girl Warning: This fat-filled milkshake is a drink disaster and should be avoided at all costs.
Do you know how many calories can be jammed into those massive sodas at the movie theater, fast food restaurants or 7-11? Close to 400! Burger King's Large Coca Cola, for example, contains 390 artifically colored calories. Talk about a royal mistake. Swap it out with a Diet Coke and you'll take in no calories at all. Then you can splurge on a little snack instead. Hungry Girl Warning: Soda calories are horrendous. Avoid them at all costs!
CHEW ON THIS: Today, April 28th, is National Blueberry Pie Day. Here's a yummy recipe we found for low calorie Peach Blueberry Pie! Let us know how it is...

*Please note: We are NOT bashing fruit juices. We just want you to be aware of the fact that they can be very high in calories, and in most cases you're better off eating the actual fruit.
