Coffee Talk

Stopping at 7-Eleven for your morning coffee?  Go for a no-calorie, flavored coffee.  If you feel like splurging a little, grab an 8 oz. French Vanilla Cappuccino.  It has 100 calories and 6 grams of fat. Steer clear of the Cafe Coolers, though.  The Mocha's got 350 calories and 12 grams of fat, while the French Vanilla has 380 calories and 16 grams of fat. Ugh!
Best Bets!
Good news!  It's not all doom & gloom at the convenience store.  Here are some of the healthier items you can scoop up:

-Fresh Fruit
-Hard-Boiled Eggs
-String Cheese
-Light Yogurts
-Luna Bars
-Campbell's Soup at Hand
Backhanded Condiments
Beware of the condiment bar, people!  Most of 7-Eleven's food choices are bad enough. They certainly don't need heaps of fat-filled condiments piled on top to make 'em even more calorie-packed.  Chili, nacho-cheese and mayo are the condiment bars worst offenders.  There are a few diet-friendly add-ons, though.  If you need a condiment fix, go for the ketchup, chopped onions, mustard or relish. They'll all add taste, without adding a lot of fat and calories to your meal.

We knew a burrito at 7-eleven (especially one named "The Bomb Burrito"), would be a bad choice.  We were still surprised, though, to find out just how horrific this massive 14 oz. meat 'n cheese fiasco is.  This frightening combination of tortilla, beef, beans, sauce and cheese clocks in at an alarming 940 calories, 42 grams of fat (16 of them from saturated) and 116 carbs. Ewww.

Sensational Slurpees...
Can't imagine a Summer without sipping Slurpees? No worries. Though a regular 16 oz. Slurpee contains about 240 calories, there are several low-cal options to choose from:

Diet Pepsi Slurpee - 0 calories and no fat!  Woohoo!

Crystal Light Slurpees (in Kiwi Strawberry Ice, Raspberry Ice, Lemon Lime Ice and Orange Pineapple Ice) - 64 calories, 0g fat and 16g sugars for 16 oz.
Today, May 20th, is National Herb Day.  Here's an interesting fact:  Rosemary tea with lemon is used to treat high blood pressure.
