We're obsessed with Fiber One (everyone and their grandmother knows that). So we were super-eager to get our teeth on their new Fiber One Chewy Bars. When we mentioned them in our news a while back (saying they existed but we couldn't find them), the emails
started pouring in from HG subscribers who were RAVING about 'em.Now that we've tried them we totally understand what all the fuss is about.Simply put, these are, hands down, the BEST bars to hit shelves in as long as we can remember. The nutritionals are more than on target (140 calories, 4g fat and a whopping 9 grams of fiber!), but the taste is what really gets us. They're ooey, gooey, sticky, crunchy and chocolatey. In fact, we think they taste better than any candy bar out there (yes, even you, Snickers). And, in case you were wondering, there's no sign of Fiber One cereal (or anything that looks or tastes remotely like it) in this bar.Weird, but we couldn't care less.
Overall Score: 10!!!Run to the market and buy these bars ASAP.
Oy. We are sooo sick of those so-called "waters" that are tweaked, flavored, poked and sweetened into bottles of horribleness. But, we were more than pleasantly surprised when we chugged our first bottle of Aquafina Alive in Peach Mango.Infused with vitamins and made with a splash of fruit juice, this stuff tastes GREAT and more like a sweetened juice drink than water. The Peach Mango flavor is strong yet not overpowering, making this beverage a great thirst-quencher.We've been guzzling Aquafina Alive at the gym.In some odd way, it helps make our workouts seem less painful.
Overall Score: 8.It would have scored even higher if it weren't billed as water.
We heard about these so-called "Mini Delights," but since they were supposed to be released in March, we didn't expect to find 'em on the shelves yet. So imagine our excitement when we spotted these Buttered Popcorn flavor multigrain cakes in little 90-calorie bags on the shelves of our local market. Our enthusiasm grew TENFOLD after we actually tasted these crunchy snacks. For starters, each little bag is PACKED full of these treats. They're light and airy yet perfectly crunchy. And the flavor is insanely delicious -- like a cross between movie theater popcorn and some sort of cheddar item (we know there's no actual cheese involved, but they taste kind of cheesy to us). Yay, Quaker! Your guilt-free snack foods continue to ROCK in a huge way!
Overall Score: 10. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! (That was a happy scream.)
It's been a while since we had anything nice to say about a new breakfast cereal. The last one we raved about was probably Kashi Vive.Since then we've been seeing a lot of Fiber One in our b-fast bowls. But there's something about new Rice Krispies with Real Strawberries that we LOVE.Maybe it reminds us of our childhood.Maybe it's the way the cereal "talks" when you pour milk over it (it could be our imagination, but we found it especially chatty when we doused it with Almond Breeze Unsweetened Vanilla). Whatever the case may be, we really DIG this cereal. It's light, fun to chew, and the pieces of tart dried strawberries are incredible! We're glad Snap!, Crackle! and Pop! have come out of retirement to create this new cereal sensation. Good work, guys!
Overall Score: 8.Good stuff, but cereal without fiber can only score so high with us.(Pssst...we like to mix a 1/2 cup of Fiber One into it to make the perfect b-fast bowl!)
CHEW ON THIS: February 23rd is International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day.We appreciate dog biscuitsjust not as much as our dogs do.
