You need to confirm that you like this page! Do it now!!! -- HG

Dear Hungry Girl,

I print out all of your emails and keep them in a file. I have misplaced several of your recipes and want them back. Can you please re-send the recipes for your onion rings and Whopper swap? Thank you!

Dear HG-Obsessed,

If you print out all of the daily emails you ARE obsessed! And as much as I appreciate your dedication to Hungry Girl, there's no real reason to print everything out, because every single one of our past emails is archived on our website at Yep, EVERY SINGLE one since we started with our very first one in April of 2004. The site is fully searchable by keyword, too -- just use the search bar at the top of the homepage, and you should be able to find what you're looking for fairly easily. I have to warn you, though, if you start reading the archives, you could get stuck there for hours -- so make sure you're not doing this at work (I don't want you to get in trouble with your boss, but if you ARE the boss, feel free to read and read!). For a little more fun, check out Whack A Snack, our game that lets you smash fattening snacks (it's very satisfying for some reason) and earn discounts on guilt-free stuff. Also, don't forget that the Hungry Girl book (which will have about 180 recipes or so, including many classic HG recipes and lots of brand-new ones too!) will be out in May. BTW, in case you’re still looking, click here for my Lord of the Onion Rings recipe and here for my Whopper swap recipe. Thanks for checking in!

What do you think are the biggest mistakes people make when dieting or trying to manage their weight?

Pondering in Pasadena
Dear Pondering,

Wow... I think there are SO many huge mistakes people make when attempting to lose weight. I'll just give you my top three, because I don't want to ramble on and on forever. Here they are:

1. Thinking in terms of being "on a diet" or "off a diet" - Weight management/weight loss is more of a lifestyle than a diet. It's an ongoing process that pretty much lasts forever. You can have so-called "good" or "bad" days, but thinking about being "on" or "off" a diet is such an old-school way of thinking, and it is NOT helpful to your overall goal. Make a commitment to change your life, and take one day at a time.

2. Skipping meals - This is a TERRIBLE idea. For the most part, you wind up eating more calories in the end because you overeat once you actually do have a meal. Plus, skipping meals is NOT fun. Meals = good.

3. Neglecting the importance of exercise - MOVE AROUND! Small changes can help SO much. You don't need to become a gym rat. Walk 20 minutes a day. Park further from the entrance to the mall. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. All of those can help burn more calories. And the more you burn, the more you lose. Stop being lazy! I don't like exercising, yet I make myself do it. A LOT.

Today, October 17th, is Four Prunes Day. It's also National Pasta Day. We'd prefer to celebrate the latter, thankyouverymuch. Chew on some Tofu Shirataki noodles or FiberGourmet pasta. Weeeeee!
