We love coffee. We love it more when it's sweet, creamy, and blended. We love it most when it's sweet, creamy, blended, low in calories, high in protein... and made with good-for-you ingredients! In other words, we're crazy about this recipe, and you will be too...

Prep: 5 minutes

3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
3 tbsp. vanilla protein powder with about 100 calories per serving (like the kind by Quest Nutrition or Tera's Whey)
1 1/2 tsp. instant coffee granules
1/8 tsp. vanilla extract
1 no-calorie sweetener packet
1 1/4 cup crushed ice (about 10 ice cubes)

Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend at high speed until smooth, stopping and stirring if needed. (The longer you blend it, the bigger and frothier it'll get.)

We're Gonna Need a Bigger Boost...

Sometimes the morning or afternoon slump is unavoidable, and you could really use a caffeine jolt! You hit the 'Bucks, and you're swayed by those tempting Frappuccinos. (It happens.) And while you get a lift from the caffeine, those drinks are loaded with calories, not to mention a serious amount of sugar... which leads to an inevitable crash. You might think this simple vanilla pick couldn't be that bad, but you'd be wrong. Even with 2% milk and no whipped cream, a Grande has 300 calories and 67 grams of sugar! (Getting whipped cream adds 120 calories and 11 grams of fat.) We love that Starbucks offers a Light option, with just 180 calories in a Grande -- that's definitely the way to go when you're out and about. But we prefer our own version -- our swap is low in calories, low in sugar, and crammed with protein! Too bad there's not a Hungry Girl café on every corner...
