NEWS

New Products Alert!

Diet Pepsi MAX - Looking for an extra ZAP of caffeine in your diet soda?
Check out Diet Pepsi MAX. It's got extra caffeine (almost TWICE as much as
regular Diet Pepsi) and a hint of ginseng to help keep you energized (but still
no calories, because it is diet soda -- duh).

Popchips - Yeah, the aisles are overflowing with healthier chips, but these are
actually "popped" (not baked or fried), all natural, and made from
ingredients like wholesome potatoes, organic white corn and whole-grain
brown rice. They come in a slew of awesome flavors and are worth checking
out (we've tried them all and they ROCK!!!). FYI, an ounce of each (about 20
chips) has 120 calories, 4 - 5g fat, and 2 - 3 Points!

Old Orchard Healthy Balance Pomegranate - If you love pomegranate juice
but hate all the sugar, check out the first-ever reduced-sugar version of the
stuff. Sweetened with Splenda, it's part of the company's popular Healthy
Balance line of juice cocktails, and it has 75 percent less sugar (and 75%
fewer carbs and calories) than most other pom juice products. Each 8-oz.
serving has just 29 calories, which means you could guzzle 16 ounces of the
stuff for just 1 Point!!!

Cool Stuff Worth Mentioning...

Bruster's Real Ice Cream's Million-Dollar Cone - Bruster's Real Ice Cream
(which has over 260 stores throughout 18 states) has designed a million-
dollar version of its signature waffle cone. It's made of nearly 20 ounces of
18k white and yellow gold, 548 round diamonds, 87 square emerald cut
diamonds, and one GINORMOUS 5.63 carat Fancy Intense Yellow radiant cut
diamond. (Pssst -- diamonds are fat-free.) This crazy thing is valued at a
million bucks and is for sale. If and when some very rich human purchases
it, the proceeds will be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Nice!

Crave This? Eat That! - Ever crave something so much it hurts? Well, HG
typically has some sort of satisfying swap for you, but here's a website that
offers up a different approach -- over a dozen cravings are listed with the
nutrients your body may actually be asking for, as well as healthy food
alternatives that contain the nutrients. For example, if you're aching for oily
snacks, you really need calcium and should munch on kale or broccoli.
Sounds fishy if you ask us. (Fish, BTW, contains phosphorus, which
supposedly kicks a craving for sweets.) Click here to check it out.

Bush's Beans Wants YOU! - Think it would be cool to be part of a panel of
recipe-tasters and veggie-tip-sharers? 50 families across the U.S. will be
chosen to take part in this cool program, which hopes to find clever and
creative ways for kids to eat veggies. Interested in applying? Click here.

The Buzz...

A recent study, conducted by the Salk Institute and Mars, Inc., suggests that
chocolate may improve memory. It found that a group of mice that were fed
flavonols (which are present in some chocolate products) and exercised
showed better memory capacity than the other mice. Does this mean that
chowing down on candy bars and running on the treadmill could help "jog"
(get it?!) your memory? Perhaps. But all we can think about now is those
mice pigging out on chocolate while running on little treadmills. Click here to
read more about it. ***Speaking of working out, there's new evidence that
suggests working out for long periods of time (more than 30 minutes) may
actually boost good cholesterol levels. The research review, published in
Archives of Internal Medicine, says at least two hours per week of aerobic
exercise (like walking, biking or swimming), preferably in sessions lasting for
more than half an hour, may boost your HDL (the good stuff). ***Lots of
people have been buzzing about stevia (an herb currently sold for use as a
natural, calorie-free sweetener). Well, you may be hearing a lot more about
it soon, because Coca-Cola has filed 24 patent applications that would give
them the exclusive rights to develop and sell a specific form of the stuff in
beverages. Veeeerry interesting... BTW, the tentative name for this stevia
product is rebiana. More soon -- for now, that's all we've got. HG out!
