Quiznos Adds Nutritionals to Menu!

In a surprising turn of events, Quiznos, one of the fast food sandwich chains
known for keeping their nutrition information hush-hush, has FINALLY gone
public with their nutritional stats. The good news is, now you can check out
their site and decide which items work for you and which ones you should
avoid. Just click on a food category under "MENU", scroll to the bottom of the
page, and hit "Show Nutrition Information". The bad news is, we found some
shockingly horrifying stats there... be prepared to cry real tears, people:

Honey Mustard Dressing - OMG! Each serving of this stuff ALONE has 500
calories and 50g fat!!!! AHHHHHH! We're too freaked out to say anything else
about it.

Tuna Melt Sub - A large one has 2,090 calories & 175g fat!!!!! Ummmm...
that is the most frightening tuna stat EVER.

Flatbread - If you order one of their Flatbread Chopped Salads, know that
the bread alone adds 330 calories and 12g fat to your meal, so don't eat all
FOUR pieces (yikes!).

Need a little help? Here's a list of items for calorie-counters. Each one has
less than 500 calories, but be sure to read the fine print carefully --
sometimes substitutions are called for (like using reduced fat dressing
instead of regular) or certain ingredients aren't included (like the flatbread).

South Beach... er, LIFESTYLE?!

Yeah, we've been saying it here at HG for years. Making smarter food
choices is not about being "on a diet" -- it's really more about changing your
lifestyle... FOR GOOD. Well, it seems like Kraft is catching on, 'cuz they're
renaming their South Beach DIET line -- it'll soon be called South Beach
LIVING. The bottom line is this -- fewer and fewer people these days are
claiming to be "on a diet", yet consumption of reduced fat and lower calorie
foods is on the rise. Dieting is temporary, but making smarter eating choices
should be a permanent change. Whether or not Kraft's decision was made to
change the way people think about food or to simply move more product off
the shelves, we applaud it -- and we may even celebrate with a South Beach
Living pizza...

The Buzz...

Wanna curb your hunger? Sniff, suck and chew PEPPERMINT! Recent studies
have found that people who inhale or consume peppermint take in far fewer
calories than people who have no contact with the stuff. SOOOO
INTERESTING. And yet another reason to brush your teeth right after dinner.
***COMING SOON -- Diet Dr Pepper Cherry Chocolate. This limited edition
stuff sounds exciting and delicious, but it could SO easily be horrible, too.
Only time will tell. ***Have those Girl Scouts been harassing you, yet again,
to buy their calorie-packed cookies? Instead of shooing them away this year,
you may want to check out their 100-calorie packs of Cinna-Spins (POINTS®
value 2*). Yep, even the Girl Scouts have jumped on the 100-calorie
bandwagon (availability depends on the council). (BTW, we love Girl Scouts
and know they don't actually harass
people!) ***Fish REALLY can make you smarter. A study out of Norway
found that people who eat fish daily outscored the non-fish-eating folks on a
whole bunch of mental skills tests. Click here to read all about it. Then go out
for sushi (but check out our survival guide first!). That's all we've got. HG out!

CHEW ON THIS:
Today, November 19th, is National Carbonated Beverage with Caffeine Day.
