Hungry Girl Today: 1.07.08

(Soon to Be) Spotted On Shelves...

Hostess 100 Calorie Packs, Streusel Muffins - If you LOVE Hostess's 100-cal

packs of creme-filled cupcakes, you will PASS out when you see these

Streusel Muffins in Blueberry, Banana, and Cinnamon (POINTS® value 1*

per pack). There are three mini muffins with crumb topping in each pack.

We've tried them all and think only the Cinnamon Streusel ones are actually

worth chewing (and passing out over), but serious fans of sweet blueberry

and banana baked goods may like the others a lot, too. Coming soon to a

grocery store near you!

Yoplait Fiber One Creamy Nonfat Yogurt - Yup, it's true. F1 yogurt is on the

way. And no, it doesn't have crunchy cereal bits in it. This creamy fat-free

yogurt comes in 4-oz. cups with just 80 calories each. It tastes GREAT ('cuz it

comes from Yoplait), and each li'l cup packs in 5 grams of fiber (POINTS®

value 1*). In Peach, Strawberry, Vanilla, and Key Lime Pie, it'll hit the dairy

case at a store near you very soon!

Fiber One Chewy Bars, Oats & Caramel - If you're a fan of the chocolate and

peanut butter versions of these bars, you will fall in LOVE with the newest

flavor. We've had a sneak chew, and we're hooked! Just like the other

flavors, this one's got GREAT stats (140 calories, 3.5g fat, 9g fiber --

POINTS® value 2*). It'll be arriving in aisles later this month. Lucky

EVERYONE!

Quaker Mini Delights in New Flavors - We're obsessed with these, so we're

counting the SECONDS 'til the three new flavors of these 90-calorie packs of

crispy treats (POINTS® value 2*) hit the shelves of our local supermarket

later this month. Look for them in Peanut Butter, Chocolate Mint, and

Caramel Drizzle. AHHHHHHHH! (That was us screaming with glee!)

Skinny Makeovers at The Bucks... and Taco Bell, Too!

The Buzz Word at The Bucks - Starbucks is gettin' all HG on us, and WE ARE

PSYCHED! If there's a limit to how many words you allow yourself to say in a

day, you are SO in luck. Now, instead of ordering your lattes and mochas at

Starbucks by asking for sugar-free syrup, fat-free milk, and no whip, simply

walk up to your favorite barista and ask him for a Skinny Latte or Skinny

Mocha, and he'll know EXACTLY what you mean. All you have to do is pick

your fave flavor (the Skinny Latte comes in Cinnamon Dolce, Vanilla,

Hazelnut, and Caramel!). A Tall size Skinny has just 90 calories and no fat!

Taco B's Fresco Frenzy - We want to give a shout out to Taco Bell and their

new & improved Fresco Menu. These nine Fresco-style items -- which contain

salsa in place of cheese and sauce -- have less than NINE grams of fat and

no more than 350 calories each. BTW, FOUR of those items have 180 calories

or less! Check it out. You go, Bell!

Stuff You Didn't Know You Needed...

Chocolate Coasters - WOW, these coasters definitely look good enough to

eat. But don't bite 'em. They're made of rubber, which may have fewer

calories than chocolate, but doesn't taste nearly as good. These are

SOOOOOO much fun and will look super-cute anywhere!

Munchlers - Insulated lunch totes shaped like zoo animals?! Does life get any

better than this? It does! These bags open up and can serve as mini place

mats (germaphobes rejoice!). Stuff these cute 'n colorful critters with your

favorite guilt-free snacks and you'll be the envy of everyone at the office.

Either that or they'll simply point and laugh.

ForkChops - Ever get so frustrated with chopsticking your sushi (yep, we

turned it into a verb) that you want to stab it and stuff it in your face? These

ForkChops will help. They have a knife and fork on one end, in case you give

up and want to eat your Asian food with some American flare (that's our nice

way of poking fun at the spazzy!). They also come in an insane array of

colors, including fancy glittery ones. We LOVE these, and, truth be told, we're

not as proficient as we'd like to be with chopsticks.

The Buzz...

If you eat Curves Cereal and want to vote on whose head gets on the box

(or even if you just like to vote on things), click here. There's a little more

than a week left to pick your choice for the new cereal box cover girl.

Woohoo! ***Need a little digestive help? Kraft is having so much success

with their LiveActive cheese line (our favorite is the Mozzarella Cheese

Sticks) that they'll be putting out MORE LiveActive products soon, including

LiveActive Crystal Light and a b-fast cereal. Sweet! ***Is your man trying to

sabotage your 2008 eating plan? You're not alone. Check out this article from

our pals over at Mom•Logic for more (they even link back to us... YAY!).

***A new study shows that just taking a brisk 30-minute walk six times a

week can increase your metabolism and result in weight loss. Click here for

the full 411. Then go for a walk! Okay, that's all we've got. HG out!

CHEW ON THIS:

Today, January 7th, is National Tempura Day. Tempura = fried Japanese

food. This is not a holiday we should be actively celebrating, people!
