<br>FDA Urging Restaurants to Serve Up Nutritional Info
<br>
<br>Acknowledging that there's a real need for more nutritional info, the FDA is 
<br>asking restaurants to make their nutritionals available to customers -- and 
<br>not just on the web -- they want detailed info about calories, fat, etc. 
<br>displayed or made available at actual restaurant locations. Great, right? Well, 
<br>there's a catch. It seems the FDA doesn't actually have the legal authority to 
<br>require restaurants to do this, and is not looking to obtain that authority in 
<br>the near future. They're merely hoping restaurants will comply out of moral 
<br>obligation. So, let's get this straight. The FDA (which actually DOES HAVE 
<br>authority over packaged foods) can't get companies to label foods 
<br>accurately, and now they're expecting restaurants to post nutritional info 
<br>when they're not even required to, just because the FDA is asking nicely? 
<br>Um, are we the only ones who think there's no chance of this actually 
<br>happening?
