Look Into Our Fries…
You Are Getting Hungry…

When we heard that Carl's Jr. is testing pizza fries in select locations, we jumped on it immediately and put together a swap. And when said swap fries came out of our test kitchen, we jumped on them immediately. Make this recipe, and you'll know why...

Prep: 10 minutes
Cook: 30 minutes

6 oz. russet potato (about half of a medium potato), scrubbed clean, cut into French-fry-shaped spears
1/4 cup canned crushed tomatoes
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp. onion powder
1/8 tsp. Italian seasoning
1/4 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
6 pieces turkey pepperoni (optional: roughly chopped)
Optional: salt; additional garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Spray a baking sheet with nonstick spray.

Lay potato spears on the sheet, and bake for 15 minutes.

Flip spears. Bake until tender on the inside and browned and crispy on the outside, 8 - 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a small bowl, stir seasonings into crushed tomatoes. If you like, add salt and additional seasonings.

Group fries together in the center of the baking sheet. Evenly top with sauce, cheese, and pepperoni.

Bake until sauce and pepperoni are hot and cheese has melted, about 3 minutes.

Transfer to a plate.

Fight it! Carl's Jr. Pepperoni Pizza Fries
Carl's Jr. Pepperoni Pizza Fries

Fries Wide Shut

The word is out: The folks at Carl's Jr. are testing Pepperoni Pizza Fries at several locations in Southern California. Everyone loves pizza; everyone loves French fries... It's almost questionable why they're bothering with a test. We respect CJ's prudent business model as well as the brand's insanely decadent concoctions, but we're not on board with the absurd nutritionals that come with this one. Not that we're surprised... They're pizza fries! Well, we've got good news all around. Our pizza fries won't cost you a fortune in calories, and they're available nationwide! Just slice, bake, top, and shove them into your face as soon as you can without burning your tongue. Too easy. Too yummy.
