I love the convenience of fast food for a quick lunch, but I'm trying to watch my weight. Do you have any suggestions that aren't crazy high in calories?

Fast food has come a long way. These days, most of the major chains have better-for-you options. I've got eight meals worth ordering, each under 350 calories! Bonus: Since these chains have nutritional calculators on their websites, I was able to run most of the SmartPoints® values without factoring in stats from 0-SmartPoints® veggies!

McDonald's Southwest Grilled Chicken Salad without Tortilla Strips

1 salad without tortilla strips: 320 calories, 10g total fat (4g sat. fat), 870mg sodium, 22g carbs, 6g fiber, 9g sugars, 36g protein -- SmartPoints® value 7*

I love that the chicken breast is free of artificial preservatives and flavors, and the salad has black beans, roasted corn, and two types of cheese. Plus, these stats include the cilantro-lime dressing! Just ditch the tortilla chips. Who needs 'em? If you're more of a burger person, pair the classic hamburger with a side of apple slices for 270 calories (SmartPoints® value 8*).

Subway Turkey Breast on 6-Inch 9-Grain Wheat Bread

1 sandwich with mustard, cucumber, green pepper, lettuce, red onion, and tomato: 290 calories, 4g total fat (1g sat. fat), 880mg sodium, 47g carbs, 5g fiber, 7g sugars, 18g protein -- SmartPoints® value 7*

Okay, Subway typically isn't a drive-thru option, but it's still fast! This sandwich is a classic. The turkey is tender, and the veggies are fresh. Yes! Plus, the wheat roll adds some extra fiber. If you're looking for a meatless pick, try the Veggie Delite on a 6-inch 9-grain honey oat roll with avocado and mustard (310 calories, SmartPoints® value 9*). Mmmmm...

Taco Bell Fresco-Style Steak Soft Tacos

2 soft tacos: 290 calories, 8g total fat (3g sat. fat), 930mg sodium, 34g carbs, 3g fiber, 4g sugars, 21g protein -- SmartPoints® value 8*

Get this: Every item on the Fresco Menu has 350 calories or less and under 10 grams of fat! Fresco means they replace fatty sour cream and cheese with flavorful pico de gallo. Enjoy two grilled-steak tacos, or mix and match. The 'Bell also has Fresco tacos with shredded chicken (140 calories, SmartPoints® value 3* each) and seasoned beef (160 calories, SmartPoints® value 5* each).

Wendy's Power Mediterranean Chicken Salad (Half Size)

1 half-size salad with dressing: 240 calories, 9g total fat (2.5g sat. fat), 520mg sodium, 22g carbs, 5g fiber, 10g sugars, 20g protein -- SmartPoints® value 7*

Some fast-food salads offer the bare minimum -- lettuce + protein + dressing -- but not this one from Wendy's! It's got feta cheese, hummus, sundried tomatoes, and quinoa. Impressive, right? And if you want to add a side, you can't go wrong with apple slices (35 calories, SmartPoints® value 0*). This may become your weekly staple...

Burger King Morningstar Veggie Burger without Mayo

1 burger without mayo: 310 calories, 7g total fat (1g sat. fat), 990mg sodium, 42g carbs, 6g fiber, 9g sugars, 22g protein -- SmartPoints® value 8*

We're longtime fans of MorningStar Farms; you don't have to be a vegetarian to appreciate the brand's tasty meatless options! This sandwich is a great source of fiber and protein. Say no to the mayo, but enjoy the layers of veggies, pickles, and ketchup. Gotta have meat? Order the Whopper Jr. sans mayo (240 calories, SmartPoints® value 8*) instead.

Subway Club Salad

1 salad before dressing: 140 calories, 3.5g total fat (1g sat. fat), 640mg sodium, 11g carbs, 4g fiber, 7g sugars, 18g protein -- SmartPoints® value 2*

Speaking of meat, why limit yourself to one? This salad comes with turkey breast, lean roast beef, and Black Forest ham. It also has black olives and loads of veggies. This salad is a winner, but don't ruin it with fatty dressing. I love the Fat Free Italian; a 2-oz. serving has just 35 calories (SmartPoints® value 1*).

Taco Bell Fresco Bean Burrito without Red Sauce

1 burrito without red sauce: 340 calories, 9g total fat (2.5g sat. fat), 900mg sodium, 54g carbs, 9g fiber, 4g sugars, 13g protein -- SmartPoints® value 10*

Yup, you can have a burrito for under 350 calories! Vegetarians and Mexican-food fans alike will be happy with this pick. It's full of refried beans, onions, and fresh pico de gallo. Simple, yet tasty! I suggest skipping the red sauce because it's loaded with sodium; feel free to include it, if salt's not a concern for you.

Wendy's Grilled Chicken Wrap

1 wrap: 270 calories, 11g total fat (3.5g sat. fat), 620mg sodium, 24g carbs, 2g fiber, 3g sugars, 20g protein -- SmartPoints® value 8*

I tend to stay away from restaurant wraps, since they're often high in calories. So, imagine my surprise when I found out Wendy's chicken wrap clocks in with fewer than 300 calories. It even has cheddar cheese and honey mustard sauce! But order carefully: Wendy's Spicy Chicken Wrap features fried chicken. (Anything fried is a drive-thru no-no!) This would also be great with those apple slices on the side.
