Recall Alert: Dole Spinach Recalled in 13 States for Potential Salmonella Risk Check your fridge and grocery cart -- Dole Fresh Vegetables has recalled a reported 33,600 bags of spinach across the US due to potential salmonella contamination. Here's everything you need to know...

The Product: Dole Spinach bags coded A27409B or A27409A, with an "Enjoy By" date of Oct. 15th and the UPC 7143000976. The product code and date can be found in the upper-right corner of the bag. The UPC is on the back, below the barcode.

The Affected States: The recalled bags were distributed to 13 states, mainly in the Northeast: Connecticut, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.

The Risk: Salmonella infection is a type of food poisoning that can result in fever and stomach issues. Young children, elderly people, and those with weak immune systems are the most likely to have severe reactions; healthy kids and adults rarely become seriously sick.
