The Best Foods We Tried in April ‘26

May 1 2026
We taste a lot of great foods here at Hungryland, and if you’re wondering what the best can’t-miss picks are from last month, we’re sharing them! These are our favorite finds from April… Have you tried them yet?

Honey Pearl Grapes

These juicy little fruits are back again for 2026, and thank goodness! They taste kind of like lychees with their distinctively sweet flavor. We can’t wait to use them to make frozen cocktails and slushy treats. There’s no official nutrition information, but it’s safe to assume it’s similar to standard grapes: around 100 calories per cup. They’re mostly available at Trader Joe's stores, though not a TJ’s exclusive.

Trader Joe’s Hot Honey Mustard

1 tsp.: 15 calories, 0.5g total fat (0g sat. fat), 35mg sodium, 2g carbs, 0g fiber, 2g total sugars (2g added sugars), 0g protein

Speaking of Trader Joe’s (as we so frequently are), this might be THE condiment of spring/summer ’26! Sure, you can add a bit to your sandwich like with any mustard, but we think its true power lies in being used like barbecue sauce. It’s a bit spicy but not overpowering, so you can spread it on everything!

Swoop High Protein Dessert

2/3 cup: 130–160 calories, 6–9g total fat (1–2.5g sat. fat), 75–85mg sodium, 13–14g carbs, 0–1g fiber, 10g total sugars (10g added sugars), 10g protein
WW Points® value 6–7*
This protein ice cream swooped into our mouths and into our hearts. We fell for the Vanilla Surge and Peanut Butter Chip Blitz ASAP and can’t wait to try the Chocolate Charge, Mighty Mint Chip, and Jumpin’ Java Chip flavors. Made with whey protein isolate, coconut nectar, and avocado oil, it’s the perfect balance of wholesome and indulgent. Click here to find it near you.

Trader Joe’s Garlic Butter Nut Mix

1/4 cup: 170 calories, 13g total fat (1.5g sat. fat), 140mg sodium, 10g carbs, 2g fiber, 2g total sugars (<1g added sugars), 4g protein
WW Points® value 5*
If you’ve been eyeing these at the store but haven’t picked them up yet, DO IT! (They just got taken off the Trader Joe's wbsite, so they might be gone soon...) This isn’t purely a nut mix—we’d call the blend of cashews, almonds, pecans, and bread chips more of a snack mix. However, it’s hard to argue with the perfectly savory and slightly sweet flavor here. (We kept mmmm-ing and yummm-ing when we tried it on the podcast.) Great for parties, since it feels more elevated than your average mixed nuts!

Trü Frü Milk + White Chocolate Freeze-Dried Raspberries

1 oz. (about 7 pieces): 150 calories, 8g total fat (4.5g sat. fat), 15mg sodium, 18g carbs, 2g fiber, 15g total sugars (12g added sugars), 2g protein
WW Points® value 8*
“HG, didn’t you JUST write about this on Monday?” YES, but we’re not going to disqualify one of the very best products we tried this month just because we recently told you about it! Trü Frü’s latest treat has “so perfect it feels like it’s always been here” energy. Rich & tangy, creamy & crunchy… These coated freeze-dried berries do it all! Order online or pick some up at Target. Find other Trü Frü treats in stores and on Amazon.

Chew on this:

Did you know that today, May 1st, is National Chocolate Parfait Day? This Black Forest Parfait is made with a mini chocolate cake that cooks in the microwave! Soooo easy, sooooo yummy.

Tell those friends who are always out of the loop about the best foods we tried last month!
