Healthy Trader Joe's Products: Meatless Sausage, Soup Dumplings & More

Our last email about Trader Joe's food finds was super popular, so we knew we had to do another one ASAP (which works great for us, because we recently tried SO many amazing things from TJ's). Read up, and make that grocery list...

Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings

1 container: 250 calories, 7g total fat (1.5g sat. fat), 610mg sodium, 29g carbs, 1g fiber, 3g sugars, 16g protein -- SmartPoints® value 7*

These dumplings are flavor packed and perfect, with a li'l explosion of rich and savory broth on the inside! They're the BEST and would be excellent with Cauliflower Fried Rice. And we love that a single serving is the entire package (6 dumplings!). If you only try one thing on this list, make it this frozen find!

Citrus Chicken Salad

1 container salad plus dressing: 220 calories, 2.5g total fat (0g sat. fat), 240mg sodium, 11g carbs, 3g fiber, 5g sugars, 13g protein -- SmartPoints® value 6*

Have you ever spent 20 minutes flipping over salads in the produce section, trying to find one that's not unnecessarily loaded with calories? We'll make it easy for you: This salad is a major calorie bargain and it's completely delicious! Packed with chicken, green papaya, cabbage, and daikon radish, its impressively low calorie count includes the yummy Thai-style citrus dressing that comes on the side. There's also a little wedge of lime included to squeeze over your salad... You might not even need all the dressing. (We use half, saving 55 calories!)

Wild Rice & Mushroom Sausage-Less Sausage

When we tried these links, we couldn't believe they were meatless. The texture and flavor are so savory and perfect. TJ's really knocked it out of the park with this one! These will be a hit with vegetarians and omnivores alike in your home, just like they were here at Hungryland. And with stats similar to chicken sausage, feel free to use 'em in HG recipes like these!

Eggplant Hummus

Trader Joe's has a bazillion hummus options, but this eggplant-infused variety is one of the very best. If you're skeptical about the eggplant, don't be. It makes the hummus extra creamy! This stuff also has a punch of garlic and a bit of a smoky flavor. Prepare to fall in love...

Carrot & Pea Vegetable Patties

1 patty: 60 calories, 2g total fat (0g sat. fat), 260mg sodium, 8g carbs, 2g fiber, 2g sugars, 2g protein -- SmartPoints® value 2*

These veggie patties are nothing like veggie-burger patties; they're very much patties made from vegetables. And they're a totally fun and tasty way to eat your veggies! There's also a Cauliflower & Broccoli variety (good too!), but this version really won us over. Have one or two as a side dish, or eat a couple wrapped in lettuce leaves as a hearty snack!

Reduced Guilt Spinach & Kale Greek Yogurt Dip

Every once in a while, as you browse the TJ's shelves, you'll come across something marked "Reduced Guilt." And when we see those words, we pounce! This dip rocks. It takes a page right out of the HG playbook by incorporating Greek yogurt. Thanks, TJ's, for making this lightened-up dip so we don't have to DIY all the time!
